" Town
page town " is the work which clipped the simple maps in advertisements
from one Japanese yellow page 'Town page', connected the streets,
and is made to large size. And this is Chiyoda, Chuo, Sumida,
Koto, Edogawa-ku (Tokyo) version. The name of places, streets
and shops are left as they are, and the geographical position
is connected at random. So it is changing greatly from the map
with the purpose showing real houses on the street although
it is the map of a specific area. Appreciation persons will
be confused at first by the world which is not visible to a
fictitious town or a real town since their eyes trace the street
of the work according to the character of a map. But if they
give up the purpose of map original, they can enjoy a walk of
eyes. |

These
are the works clipped the simple maps in any advertisements
from arbitrary printed matters and connected the railroad routes
linearly. These works are distinguished by connecting "JR line"
of the striped patterns showing the routes of Japan Railways
and connecting "PR line" of the cross patterns showing the routes
of private railways. The kind of district routes and the order
of stations are random, and the length becomes long as long
as it is allowed in the exhibition space. JR Line is 650cm and
PR Line is 150cm in this exhibition. |

series, and the book work which clipped the simple maps from
arbitrary printed matters and connected the line of streets.
This book has turned into "RoAD MAp" of fictitious
land since it is made from a collage of the clipped maps that
would have no specific names of the places. |
